Paula Morris has a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science degree in Biology (cell and molecular biology). Ms. Morris graduated from the University of Texas School of Law in 1983 (with honors). Since then, Ms. Morris has prepared and prosecuted numerous patent applications, largely in the chemical practice area. For nine years of her practice, Ms. Morris actively participated in litigation, including patent infringement litigation involving pharmaceutical and chemical inventions, semiconductor processing techniques, medical implants, simple mechanical devices, and trade dress matters. Ms. Morris is a member of the bar of the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and the United States Supreme Court. Ms. Morris has spoken both locally and nationally on various intellectual property law topics, and has published several intellectual property law articles. In 1989, Ms. Morris was a joint recipient of the Rossman Memorial Award for the best article published in the Journal of the Patent Office Society during 1988.
Ann Alaniz has been an intellectual property secretary, paralegal, and office manager for thirteen years. Ann has extensive experience assisting in the preparation and prosecution of patent and trademark applications, as well as in various client accounting systems. OF COUNSEL: JEFF JACOBS, J.D., B.S.E.E., M.S.E.E. Jeff Jacobs received a B.S.E.E. and a M.S.E.E. from Tufts University, and received a J.D. from Tulane University. Mr. Jacobs worked for several years as an electronics engineer for Raytheon. After graduating from Tulane law school, Mr. Jacobs worked for Blakely, Sokoloff, Taylor & Zafman, LLP in Sunnyvale, California. Mr. Jacobs later worked for Pravel Hewitt in Houston, Texas. Mr. Jacobs has drafted and prosecuted hundreds of patent applications for large electronics companies.
